The PH Putting Rail enables you to test and improve your perception of straight, feedback on your putter face alignment at Impact, your ability to start the ball on your intended start line above above all your discipline.
The Rail has been designed to help provide both players and coaches with accurate feedback on the players perception relative to the target at set-up, as well as feedback on the starting direction of the ball. The rail when set up creates a linear reference along the target line to help players appreciate if the “straight line looks straight”. It is also a good idea to use a line laser and continue the line down the rail to a target a further 3ft away. Does the rail point at this target?
The additional piece that attaches to the rail (11cm or 4.33″) to create a perpendicular reference to the target line so the golfer can get an understanding of what “square looks like”. The amount of times a player doesn’t appreciate what square is! The player or coach can then adjust the players set up, shoulder position, head or eye position so that they can gain a better perception of straight/square which as a consequence can help a players putter aim/targeting on the golf course.
The PH Putting Rail is too be used on a flat piece of ground, ideally indoors. It is possible to use outdoors but please be careful with the slopes. It is a good idea to use a level to ensure you are putting directly uphill or downhill. The rail is used to measure the accuracy of the ball start line, as the rail is only 1.5cm (0.59″) at the end meaning that to successfully roll the ball down the rail, the putter would be <0.20 degrees (open or closed) at impact. The rail is 87cm (34″) in length. It is 2.5cm (0.98″) wide at the starting position, wide enough to roll putts along and give the most accurate feedback on face angle at impact. For those players that have been on Quintic Ball Roll, a successful putt down the whole length of the rail is equivalent to a BLUE Face angle reading! How many in a row can you achieve? Greater than 10 in a row and that is certainly very impressive! A miss right, counts the same as a miss left, therefore you can’t manipulate the putter face… Once you have achieved successful putts, try altering the ball speed…
The PH Putting Rail is 2.5mm in depth and weights just 0.5kg. It has a matt black power coating finish to reduce reflections an to protect from marking.
*Please note: When travelling with the PH Putting Rail, to prevent breakages and bending, it is important to lie flat, or place inside your golf bag.
